Child Protection Policy

Introduction:

North Orange County Area Polo is committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all participants, especially children and young people. This policy outlines our approach to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children involved in our activities.

 

Definition of a Child:

For the purposes of this policy, a child is defined as any person under the age of 18 years. Commitment to Safeguarding:

N.O.C.A.P is committed to safeguarding children from harm. We believe that every child, regardless of age, gender, race, or ability, has the right to participate in sports in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Responsibilities:

All staff, coaches, volunteers, and officials associated with N.O.C.A.P. have a responsibility to ensure that the welfare of children is a top priority.

Code of Conduct:

Everyone involved with the club is expected to uphold the highest standards of behavior and conduct. This includes treating children with respect, listening to their concerns, and providing a positive and inclusive experience.

Recruitment and Training:

All individuals working with children will be subject to rigorous recruitment and selection procedures, including appropriate background checks. They will also receive training on child protection and safeguarding matters. Reporting and Responding:

Any concerns about the welfare of a child will be taken seriously and dealt with in a prompt and appropriate manner. Reports should be made to the designated child protection officer Lisa Harrison.

Confidentiality:

Information about children will be handled in a sensitive and confidential manner. It will only be shared with those who need to know for safeguarding purposes.

Communication:

We will work closely with parents, guardians, and caregivers to ensure they are kept informed about club activities and any concerns regarding their child's well-being.

Anti-Bullying:

N.O.C.A.P. has a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying, harassment, or any form of abusive behavior directed towards children.

Review and Monitoring:

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in legislation and best practice. Designated Child Protection Officer:
